5/12/15 Case Study Response (50 word min)

Hands off, Please

Ava loves her new job.  Recently, her supervisor, Keith, has been making her feel very uncomfortable.  In spite of her objections, Keith finds ways to get physically close to her, brushing lightly agains her or playfully cornering her in a room.  On one occasion, while Ava was dispensing mail in the mailroom, Keith quietly entered the room and snapped her bra strap.  Ava was so shocked she didn't respond.

She really needs this job and doesn't want to anger her supervisor.  She often laughs off his advances and tells him her boyfriend would not like this.  She doesn't have a boyfriend but is hoping Keith might take the hint.  She is starting to feel anxiety about going to work and worries about getting trapped along with Keith.  She is also hesitant to confront Keith's supervisor for fear of this response.  What should Ava do?

  1. I think she should tell Keith again that he shouldn't do this because he could lose his job, and she doesn't like it. Ava should tell his supervisor if it keeps going on because he shouldn't be doing that at work. She should tell keith to take work more seriously.

  2. I would let someone of a higher authority know what Keith is doing. The things that he is doing are on the border of sexual harassment. He needs to also be told that his advances are not wanted and that he should back off or she could take legal action.

  3. I would let someone with the higher leader level to tell Keith and what he is doing. The ideas that he is doing are just straight up nasty. He needs to be told what he has to do and back off or he may be gone like the wind

  4. I would get furious at Keith and say the next time he touches her she is going to get a restraining order. Tell him that she does not like when he touches her because she doesnt like him. If it doesnt stop I would tell the supervisor.

  5. I would get mad at Keith and say the next time he touches her she is going to get a restraining order. Tell him that she doesn't like when he touches her. If it doesn't stop I would tell the supervisor.

  6. I think she should tell him that he needs to stop. And if she doesn't get the response she needs from him, she should tell his supervisor and if anything he will lose his job and not her because a person shouldn't get fired from getting harassed at work.

  7. I would let someone with the higher level of authority to tell Keith and what he is doing. the stuff that he is doing are kinda gross. he needs to be told what he has to do and back off or he will be fired.

  8. She should tell him to stop and if she doesn't get the response she wants from him she should go tell a supervisor. He would lose his job not her because someone can't, well shouldn't get fired from being harassed.

  9. I think she needs to tell her boss that she is going to file a lawsuit against this company if that continues to happen. As much as she likes her job she shouldnt have to worry about a guy trying to do sexual things to her

  10. I think she should should tell him to stop and if he doesnt tell his supervisor and/or the police. It is not ok for guys to do that especially if the girl asks them to stop. The guy needs to respect what the girl wants and needs to stop physically touching them.

  11. I think that she needs to tell him how it is and tell him that t she is not interested and that she is here to work and nothing else and them tell him that if he does not stop ad continues to be an a** that she is going to take it up to cooperate.
