One of Mara's responsibilities is to keep the supply cabinets stocked at work. She shops for coffee and janitorial supplies and orders office supplies as needed. Kristin needed to restock the paper towels in the ladies' room, so she borrowed Mara's key. At the end of the day, as Mara walked to her car to go home, she remembered she forgot to get the cabinet keys back from Kristin. She realized she would need them early in the morning to set up for a meeting.
She went back inside and found Kristin gathering supplies from the cabinet. She had collected several binders, packages of pens, and mechanical pencils, highlighters and spiral-bound notebooks. When Kristin saw Mara, she was startled. She explained she had been working so late the past week that she was unable to pick up school supplies for her kids, and school was starting tomorrow. Mara didn't know what to say. She knows Kristin works extra hours and doesn't ask for compensation, but does that make it OK to take supplies from work? Mara's employer entrusted her with the keys and made her responsible for supplies. What should Mara do?
She should tell her that she still has to pay for them even though she works their. Also that if she is caught doing it again she will be fired. I would tell her that it is not okay to steal and that she could have asked her if she could take some of it before she did.
ReplyDeleteShe should tell her that she has to buy everything that she took, and replace it at work. She should tell her that if she is caught stealing anything from work again that there will be more consequences or she will get fired. Ask her if there is any way she can go to a store and get supplies before tomorrow and if not, buy back and replace everything she took.
ReplyDeleteShe should tell her that just because she works there doesn't mean she can just take stuff. She has to pay for it. If she keeps doing it she will have a bigger consequence or even get fired. She can go to a store and buy them early in the morning or go tonight. If she can not go, then she can buy and replace the works supplies.
ReplyDeleteI think she should tell her to stop taking supplies from work. she could probably get the supplies for a discount price. Taking things from work without asking or paying for it is considered stealing by my book.
ReplyDeleteI think she should tell her to stop taking stuff from work. She probably could get supplies for a reasonable amount. Taking things from your work without asking or paying is definitely stealing!
ReplyDeleteI think she should tell her that its not okay to just take the stuff from the business because she didnt pay for it and she cant just take it without permission. But... i would let her keep the supplies because she does work over time without compensation from the company.
ReplyDeleteshe should tell her to stop stealing supplies from work. As she could probably get the supplies for a discounted price if she just asks as taking things from work without permission is considered stealing and would put a bad name to her which I bet she doesnt want. As if you get caught for stealing youd get fired which will make it harder for her to get a job in the future
ReplyDeleteI think she should tell her to stop taking stuff from work. She probably could get supplies for a reasonable amount. Taking things from your work without asking or paying is definitely stealing! Stealing is bad and she needs to get fired from her work for that. THere is no excuse when you probablly can get a discount if you work at the store.
ReplyDeleteShe should be told that she needs to stop ta king things from work. Why steal these things things when you could go to staples and buy them cheap!!! So needless to say she just took dumb stuff
