Tuesday 10/28/14 Case Study (Min. 50 Word Response)

The Case of the Illegal Puppy Dog

You're walking through the residence hall when you hear what sounds like a puppy yapping in one of the rooms . After knocking on the door, it turns out your friend Lilliana has an adorable puppy in the room . She informs you that the puppy belongs to her grandfather who is currently in the hospital and because the puppy can't be home alone, Lilliana chose to bring the puppy to the residence hall . She insists that the puppy will be gone tomorrow morning and goes on to explain the amount of stress she's under because of her grandfather's sickness . Lilliana knows you're a student leader and pleads with you not to tell anyone about the puppy . You like Lilliana and miss playing with puppies, so you tell her it's no big deal and play with the puppy for a few minutes .

About a week later, you overhear one of the students on Lilliana's floor complaining about a fine they got for cleaning expenses . Apparently, "Some chick brought a dog into the lobby and it crapped all over the place . Because she didn't have the guts to come forward, everyone has to split the cost of cleaning up the mess . This is so stupid!"

> What would you do?

  1. tell the people that i will pay for the fine and then go to lilliana to see why the dog is still in the building and also to see if you can give the dog to someone else that can watch the dog so she doesnt become even more stressed as well as tell some of the people what could be going on and how well fix the problem of it and hopefully resolve it in a good way

  2. I would pay for the fine myself because it was my fault that I let her bring the puppy in. I would apologize to the residents and ensure them that I would not let it happen ever again. I would hope that people would be happy after that. I would talk to the person who brought the dog in and tell her next time it happens she may have to pay a fine.

  3. Tell Liliana and everyone that dogs are not allowed anymore. Tell Liliana that she didn't take care of the puppy, especially since you let her keep it, so now no dogs are allowed no matter what. It is my fault for letting her keep the puppy in her room. Tell the person who is complaining that it was a one time thing and that you are sorry because it was your fault. Say you will pay the fine because you said that she could keep it.

  4. I would have took the blame because it was her fault for letting the dog in! It was her responsibility to pick up after the dog or tell the young lady to take it home with her. She could have also took the dog with her when she left for work. It was all her fault and i think she should have told everyone so they did not have to pay for the damage that the dog had done.

  5. I would tell Liliana that she needs to make sure that she is cleaning up after the dog especially if they are not allowed because, there is a reason they are not allowed because people don't clean up after them like you failed to do. I would also tell her that she probably needs to put the dog in the kennel until her grandfather gets out of the hospital.

  6. I would tell Liliana that she needs to pay for the cleaning bill and she needs to do something about that dog. I would let her know that I am proud of her that shes actually helping but in all she is putting stress on a lot of people by letting that dog stay.

  7. I would pay the fine because I am the one that said it was okay. I would also talk to her about letting someone else take care of it so she doesn't get even more stressed out. Ask a family member to take care of it for her grandfather. If no one could take care of the dog, I will tell her to get the dog a kennel.

  8. I would talk to her and tell her I can't say no more because it's only causing problems and she said she would take care of it and obviously she was watching it close enough. I would tell her that if it's going to stay that she needs to get permission from somebody that can give her that kind of permission. I would also tell her that she needs to take responsibility for what she's done.

  9. i would pay the fine because overall it was my fault and that would be the appropriate thing to do in this situation, but i would talk to her about finding a person to take care of her dog, instead of her getting in trouble anymore or even getting rid of the dog, she could go visit the dog whenever she wanted to and she could still be close.

  10. i would pay the fine because it was my fault and that is the right thing to do. but i would probably go talk to the lady and see if someone could take care of the dog instead of her getting into any more trouble.

  11. I would pay the fine because I don't know if it is Lillianas fault or not. But I would make sure that it never happens again. I would then go talk to Lilliana and tell her that it was wrong of her to break the rules and not coming forth and admitting that it was her fault.
