What is the Role of Production Agriculture in Your Local Community?
In my community Ag is about going out and using your abilities to help others. It doesn't matter if you live on a farm or not you can still make a big difference in Ag. I don't live on a farm. I've spent most of my childhood on one though. People around here who actually live on a farm make fun of me because I wear cowboy boots all the time even though I don't live on a farm. The difference is what you love doing. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about you, or what you like to do. The only thing that matters is what you think about yourself. When I go to college I plan to major in Ag or maybe in music, I'm not sure yet. If I choose Ag I could work for a farmer and earn money to buy my own land so I can one day become a rancher like I have always wanted to be. I love animals and this way I would be able to make money with the animals I would own on my ranch. Such as horses, cows, pigs, goats, sheep, and many more. I would probably get myself a collie to help me round up my animals so they can go back in their cage. My point is I know I have a tough road ahead of me as of how I am going to make this happen. I don't expect any of this to come easy, but the main thing is if you believe in what you want you can accomplish it you just need to realize that you may not get there for quite a while and some people may not at all, and thats ok sometimes your fate changes and you can find something else you may become passionate about. On anything you do never give up and always look to a friend for help. Don't let people bring you down. I have people in my school that bring me down everyday, and you know what? I really could care less nothing they say about me bothers me because I know what they say is not true and if they don't like it they can find someone else to bring down. I am confident of this because, once I get to where I want to be because I worked hard and deserved it. They will be the ones that end up looking silly.
In the community of Hampton Agriculture is life as our whole town and towns around us are based off an agriculture base from livestock to crops. As well as it is a family thing that people do as it gets passed down from kid to kid and without these farms or ag we will have no chance in wanting the things we need or want for food or products. With out the farmers who do crops theres no food for humans and or livestock which means no food cause we cant feed the livestock and if we dont have livestock then we dont have food on our plates as consumers we wont be able to make a healthy living with very little produce. The role of an ag worker of future dosnt get enough attention that it should as they keep our world going round and round and keep people smiling cause we giving them the foods they like
Agriculture is a huge part of my community. The little town of Hampton is completely surrounded by farms. Everywhere you look there is a field of corn or beans, and a farmer out harvesting. Most of my friends’ families farm, mostly corn, and soybeans, or raising cattle. My dad is also a farmer, and that is how he supports my family. If there was no agriculture, I would not have a house, or get some of the opportunities I do now without the money that comes from farming, such as sports camps, and being able to buy things, and other fun things. The farms around the community of Hampton, and the surrounding area have been passed down for many generations, from parents to their kids, and their kids. It is often overlooked because so many people farm, but it is more important to our community, country, and even the world than we think. Farming around Hampton extends far past just our little community, it contributes to Nebraska, the country, and even world-wide. Local agriculture also puts food on people’s plates. Corn is used in many types of food, and products that we would never think of, and beef is a major product in Nebraska and some of the best. And some of it is raised right here in and around Hampton. Most people just take what they eat, and what most people around the community for granted, and don’t realize how much of an affect it has, not only in Hampton, but on a bigger scale.
Hampton Nebraska, population, about 500. We live in the Heartland of United States, farming is the way of life out here. it's almost less common if you live in town.
